Our story

It all started with a mattress.

Leon's Furniture Limited has grown from its beginnings in 1909 in Welland, Ontario into one of Canada's most highly respected retailers. What started with the sale of a single mattress became a business that spans the country.

  1. 1909

    Ablan Leon opens the doors of the A. Leon Company in Welland, Ontario.

  2. First sale

    A single mattress, sold to a young couple just starting out. It set the tone for everything.

  3. 1969

    Leon's goes public on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

  4. Today

    80+ stores coast to coast and 2,600+ associates — one of Canada's most respected retailers.
